Getting Started with Phonics Shed

Getting Started with Phonics Shed

1. Getting your account set up - download a full Phonics Shed guide here
Add the children and teachers in your school and have them organised into the classes you need. If you already have an EdShed product, such as Spelling Shed or MathShed, and have completed your setup for these, then most of this will already be done. View our guide to adding pupils here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GVuZTkNcQEM

2. Explore our interface
Here you will find our Phonics scheme is split into chapters and then further sets. Everything you need to teach each set is found within the scheme. Phonics Shed is a multi-sensory, narrative-driven scheme using actions, songs and rhymes to teach GPCs and letter formation.

3. Set work for pupils
You can set digital copies of our decodable books for pupils to access through their logins, as well as Phonics games to practise chosen GPCs. To set assignments for pupils see here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nQWaP6rCj8U

4. Enhance your CPD
Watch our Ready, Set, Go! Training which is included with your package to help you get started with the program. To find this, just log in, click Phonics Shed, Select Chapter: Guidance and Training. This will go through the features of Phonics Shed to ensure you haven't missed any, give you guidance on where to start when introducing it in a school, tips for teaching the lessons, assessing and guidance for at home. If you want further CPD, we also offer in-house training, details of which can be found here https://www.edshed.com/en-gb/training or email training@edshed.com for more information.
