How to set a single assignment
Instructions below for both versions of the EdShed site ...
The new EdShed site ...
1. Choose whether to set the assignment for a group or a selection of pupils.
2. Select your pupils/group. If you don't want to set this for your whole class, we recommend setting up subgroups within your group page to make this easier.
3. Choose your subject for the type of assignment you are setting.
4. Click "Single Assignment"
5. There may be other assignment types that can be chosen for your subject here, such as if you want to set it as a test.
6. Choose the content of your assignment, e.g., is it a quiz, word list, game depending on the subject you have previously chosen?
7. Click the "Limit options" field if you want to limit pupils to only seeing what you have set.
8. Remember to set this number to zero if you want to lock pupils to what you have set or put a minimum number of games they must play here before the rest of the screen unlocks.

The old EdShed site ...
Assignments can be created for Spelling Shed, MathShed and QuizShed as long as you have the relevant subscription.
To create a single assignment (one assignment)
1. Go to the 'Assignments' page from the menu on the EdShed homepage. From here, click on the button on the right hand side of the page which says '+ Create'.
2. This will show a dropdown with two options, to create one assignment you need to choose 'Single assignment'.
3. This will bring up the create assignment window where you can choose the title and edit the dates and times you want the assignment to be available for.
4. Choose the type of assignment you wish to set. For Phonics Shed you can choose Game or Book. For Spelling Shed you can choose Spelling Games or SPaG Quiz. For MathShed you can choose Fluency, Quiz or Lesson. For QuizShed you can choose Quiz or Lesson. Then you select the exact task you want to set, e.g., word list, quiz or game. The options can vary depending on the type you select.
5. You can select 'limit lists' so the pupils are restricted to only being able to see the assignment until they have played the required amount of games.
6. Click save and it will take you to the next screen where you can select which pupils you want to set the assignment for. You can choose your class using the 'group' dropdown. By clicking on 'Track group' the assignment will be assigned to all the pupils in the group, pupils will be taken out of the assignment if they are taken out of the group or added into the assignment if they are added to the group. You can also select just a 'sub-group' within the group too.
7. Click the teachers tab, if you would like any partner teachers to be able to view this assignment, click 'add' next to their name.
8. When the pupils log on, they will see the assignments tab at the top of the screen and a number indicating how many assignments they have to complete.
