How to change pupil display names

Instructions below for both versions of the EdShed site.


For the new site ...

1. Click 'View' next to your group
2. Click on the pupil you wish to edit.
3. Click the pencil icon next to the display name


For the old site ...

You may notice that pupils appear with different display names on the school and class league tables. This is a safeguarding feature we have put in place so that pupils' real names cannot be seen when our products are used outside of the classroom.

Manually editing display names


1. Go to 'all pupils'
2. Click on the pencil icon next to the pupil name


Bulk editing display names

1. Go to the 'All pupils' page and click 'Download CSV'
2. Edit the display names column and save to your computer.
3. Click '+ Add Pupils' on the 'All pupils' page, then 'upload' and click where it says 'drop files here to upload'. This must be uploaded as a CSV file.
